20 years ago, I decided to take the registered nursing program at Sheridan College. As a single mother with four children, I wanted to ensure I had a good job to ensure the brightest future for them.

Unfortunately, due to a program change at the college, the nursing program was cut. We were asked to switch schools. I ended up dropping out of school with over $6,000 of debt.

Years later, I still have this heavy debt, with interest. I work a minimum wage job, and it is getting harder to make ends meet. What a far cry from my dream job of being a nurse.
